Will your Asset Inspection Management be left behind in 2015?

Listen to this article

Business managers responsible for asset inspection management and reporting are being urged to take advantage of new advances in technology that can boost the effectiveness and accuracy of asset inspections, or risk getting left behind by the competition.

With technological advancements in all industrial sectors evolving and advancing rapidly, businesses cannot afford to fall short when it comes to preventable mistakes, delays and expenditure caused by human error.  In fact, many businesses still use dysfunctional paper-based asset inspection techniques which overcomplicate the process and often result in time and money being wasted, particularly in comparison to more up-to-date technologies.

2014 has seen the rise in the cloud-based offerings designed to improve the accuracy and reliability of asset inspections, but this only solves half of the problem. The savviest solutions are those which also utilise this inspection data as a strategic analysis tool, explains Mr Croote, a spokesperson for Inspection Toolbox.
Mr Croote explains

“By taking the entire asset inspection process to the Cloud, fully integrated solutions like Inspection Toolbox enable organisations to obtain a new level of inspection precision and efficiency that is simply not possible through expensive and time consuming paper-based life processes. By capturing data directly onto the tablet database as the inspection takes place, the risk of errors and delays occurring is severely reduced. It also gives management greater visibility and control whilst also helping to deliver savings of around 40% on the cost of the inspection management life cycle.

The focus in 2015 needs to be about embracing modern technologies in the asset inspection management process, so that managers can push their business further by not only having access to better quality date, but actually making sense it and putting it to good use.”
