Innovative design and lightweight of the pump reduces total cost of ownership and cuts maintenance time for small scale industries

Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), a global fluid management company, has announced the launch of highly-advanced i-CAN series of pumps, designed to dramatically reduce maintenance time and total cost of ownership (TCO) for the small-scale industries. The new cutting-edge product launched by KBL will help customers install, operate and maintain their systems more efficiently and reliably.

The seal-less and gland-less mono-block design of the pump enables it to cater to industries like ice-making plants, cold storages, air-conditioning plants, dairies and some small scale industries involved in refrigeration-related businesses. The pump’s compact, lightweight yet sturdy design with less number of components helps it to minimize assembly and dismantling time and occupy less space. The pump is hailed as a step-up from the conventional mechanical seal pump category which requires heavy maintenance.

Commenting at the occasion of the launch, Mr. Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman and MD, KBL said: “We are excited about the new range of i-CAN pumps. In the process industry, maintenance of pumps is a critical task. Normally, this industry requires skilled manpower to handle pumps. In a major departure from the past practice, the i-CAN series of pumps brings in simplicity in operation as well as maintenance. This new addition to the range of pumps offered KBL will enable the company to serve as the ‘one-stop-shop’ of pumps required for process applications. Being maintenance-free, the product will enhance process reliability at the customer-end.”

The i-Can pumps can be installed without any strict alignment requirements. The pumps are silent in operation and can be offered with Horizontal as well as in Vertical execution, depending upon the site conditions. The pumps are capable of handling toxic, explosive, expensive, hazardous, cryogenic and corrosive fluids without any possibility of emissions into the environment and will be suitable for vacuum-tight application and for fluids which react when come in contact with the atmosphere.
