New small-scale Powder/Liquid Mixer from Silverson Machines
Dispersing powders into liquids and creating a consistent, homogeneous product, time after time, is one of the most difficult of all mixing tasks.
Whether the need is to incorporate large volumes of powders or handle small amounts of critical components such as active ingredients, Silverson has a comprehensive range of mixers designed to provide the most efficient means of incorporating powders into liquids, now across an even broader range of batch sizes.
Expanding on the existing powder/liquid mixer range, the introduction of the FMX10 provides the same mixing prowess to customers working at small-scale. The FMX10 has been specifically developed to bridge the gap between the laboratory-scale FMX5 and production-scale FMX mixers, providing customers with a simple, effective and hygienic means of powder/liquid mixing on a small scale.
The FMX10 can process batches of up to 50 litres, depending on viscosity. It features an innovative pumping rotor design allowing it to process higher viscosity mixes. The option of a high-speed motor, capable of 9,000rpm, and Flameproof specification make this model even more versatile.
For production-scale powder dispersion, the FMX range offers powder incorporation rates of up to 15000 kgs/hour, depending on the model. Unlike many other powder/liquid mixers which use a vacuum to pull in powders, the Silverson Flashmix literally forces powder into the liquid stream.
This allows it to disperse and hydrate large volumes of powders before they enter the mixing vessel, preventing the build-up of partially hydrated powder on the vessel wall which can be a problem when using conventional agitators.
For laboratory-scale powder/liquid mixing, the FMX5 has a typical batch size of up to 10 litres, depending on viscosity. The mixer offers an accurate means of predicting the performance of the larger powder/liquid mixers in the Silverson product range, making the scale-up process a simple task.
