AkzoNobel showcases comprehensive range of Resicoat powder coatingsat The Battery Show North America
AkzoNobel will showcase its comprehensive range of dielectric powder coatings solutions from Resicoat to protect critical components such as battery systems and electric motors to help keep drivers of electric vehicles (EVs) and their passengers safe on the road.
Resicoat powder coatings have a reputation for performance, reliability and protection that has been established over more than 50 years and which meet global electrical insulation standards (UL approvals).
Products within the Resicoat for electric vehicles market (Resicoat EV range) have superior dielectric strength and enhanced thermal conductivity for battery systems (including battery cells, cooling plates, enclosures, busbars) and motors (hairpin stators, slot insulation).
They also protect against corrosion and reduce resistance, helping manufacturers extend component life and ensure the battery performs better for longer.
They also support a more sustainable operation; Resicoat powder coatings are free from Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and solvents, helping to reduce a customer’s carbon footprint. The need for less product and the generation of near zero waste (overspray can be recycled and reused) also contributes to a more sustainable process.
Through their extremely durable qualities they deliver a consistent, stable, longer-lasting performance, even in challenging operating environments, providing right-first-time finish and high edge coverage. They can be applied quickly and easily in high volume, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Jeff Jirak, Director of AkzoNobel Powder Coatings says: “We’re excited to show how more than five decades of expertise and innovation in powder coating solutions is helping manufacturers design batteries and electric systems with the safety and certainty they need to power an electric future.”
