UnPacked Returns: Made in Britain Showcases British Manufacturing Leaders

This July, the second series of Made in Britain’s UnPacked video interviews is set to launch, offering a unique glimpse into what drives UK manufacturing.

Made in Britain, a well-respected trade body dedicated to supporting UK manufacturers, is thrilled to announce the return of its popular video interview series, UnPacked. Following the success of its first season, the series is back with a fresh lineup of face-to-face interviews featuring prominent figures and innovative trailblazers from the British manufacturing scene.

Once again hosted by broadcaster and journalist Matthew Stadlen, the new series dives deep into how manufacturers across the UK are leading the charge in innovation, advocating for sustainability, and playing a vital role in long-term economic stability.

This time around, unlike the previous season which was held virtually, the latest episodes have been filmed on location. This in-person format creates a professional atmosphere that connects audiences more closely with the people, processes, and stories behind some of Britain’s most vibrant manufacturing businesses.

A Platform for Inspiration and Innovation

The first series of UnPacked showcased 19 influential industry leaders, including Peter Morris from Lockabox Limited, Shalom Lloyd MBE of Naturally Tiwa, and Alex Simmons of Home Decor. Each episode highlighted their inspiring journeys of innovation, leadership, and growth.

The new series continues this mission, offering a platform for Made in Britain’s 2,200+ member businesses to share their insights, challenges, and growth strategies. New episodes will be released weekly and can be streamed for free on the Made in Britain website.

John Pearce, the CEO of Made in Britain, highlighted the significance of the series:

“Supporting British manufacturers and wider industry is the core ethos of Made in Britain, and the UnPacked series enables us to shine a spotlight on the innovative minds within our member base of 2,200 that are making a real difference; not just for their own business, but for the entire industry.

“Each and every one of the businesses that are Made in Britain members has unique stories to tell, and we want to bring those to life and put their hard work into the limelight for all to see. UnPacked is about more than just the tales of success; it serves as an opportunity to learn tricks of the trade, to discover different leadership styles and identify new ways to strengthen the economy and make a positive difference to the world.

“Our dream for UnPacked is for it to inspire others to pursue their career aspirations, and to motivate business leaders to continuously strive for more.”

Matthew Stadlen, the series host, shared his own thoughts:

“From the guy who invented on-street bike storage units, to the woman driving forward multi-pack car seats for children, I've come face to face with the innovators and entrepreneurs who are transforming British manufacturing.”

A Commitment to Sustainable Growth

Since it first launched in 2013, Made in Britain has expanded to represent more than 2,200 businesses from a wide range of sectors, including packaging, healthcare, energy, construction, defense, and apparel. The organization equips its members with strategic tools to assess and enhance their environmental and social impact, all while championing the highest standards of ethical and sustainable manufacturing.

Moreover, Made in Britain works hand-in-hand with policymakers to foster growth, create skilled jobs, and bolster the UK economy.
