Agricultural Water Pollution Taken to Court

Listen to this article

Lawyers for WWF-UK, the Angling Trust and Fish Legal were at the High Court this week demanding a judicial review into water pollution caused by the agricultural industry, according to Farmers Weekly.

The conservationist groups are accusing ministers of failing to protect England’s rivers and wetlands from pollution, including diffuse run-off from soils and pesticides entering watercourses.

The Angling Trust asserts that salmon populations have declined by up to 50 per cent in the last 30 years, with agricultural pollution being one of the most significant causes. However, more and more farmers are taking the control of chemicals and pesticides seriously and are storing all agricultural chemicals safely and responsibly.

Enduramaxx helps farmers effectively store all types of agricultural liquids and chemicals and our chemical storage tanks ensure that pesticides are kept well clear of surrounding water sources. Like all Enduramaxx tanks, our pesticide tanks are made from a very rugged, UV-stabilised polyethylene and they store up to 30,000 litres of pesticide.
