Asset Management For Steam Methane Reformers Discussed
AMETEK Land, the world leader in the design and application of infrared temperature measurement for industry, announces that Business Development Manager Thomas Fortinberry will speak at the Asia Downstream Technology Forum (ASIA-TECH), October 11 to 12, 2016, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Thomas Fortinberry, whose forum topic is “Online Asset Management for Steam Methane Reformers,” joined AMETEK Land in 2016 as Business Development Manager for Industrial Gas, following a 20-year career inspecting and maintaining, during which he co-authored “Safely Operating Steam Reformers between Turnarounds: A Holistic Approach to Reliability and Maintenance.”
“I look forward to speaking at what is now established as the must-attend event for the Asian Downstream Sector,” comments Mr. Fortinberry. “My presentation will focus on the importance of using effective infrared temperature measurement and management systems to optimise the efficiency and life-span of tubes and catalysts.”
Mr Fortinberry’s presentation will include a look at AMETEK Land’s soon-to-be-released Near Infrared Borescope (NIR-B) 3XR for industrial gas applications. The NIR-B 3XR provides the operator with access to temperature data that would otherwise be unknown or highly time consuming to collect. This data allows the operator to increase the efficiency of the furnace and, therefore, improving product quality and reducing process costs.
Speaking of this latest innovation, Thomas Fortinberry notes, “This is a major development in temperature measurement for industrial gas applications, which will help to optimise efficiency and significantly improve monitoring. Use of the NIR-B 3XR will lead to increased productivity, greater asset protection and enhanced tube life. It also will reduce risk to operators as they will no longer need to be in hazardous areas on a regular basis.”
ASIA-TECH is held as part of Asia Downstream Week 2016. It brings together the leading regional operating companies with international technology and equipment suppliers to discuss and debate the latest technologies and best-practice techniques for refining, residue upgrading and petrochemicals.
During the Asia Downstream Technology Forum (ASIA-TECH) AMETEK Land will demonstrate innovative new technologies for the industrial gas industry at Stand 6.
Later, on November 21 to 23, AMETEK Land will exhibit at Asian Nitrogen & Syngas 2016 at Stand 7. The exhibition, which is the region’s premier technical event for the nitrogen, syngas and methanol industries, will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, in the heart of South East Asia’s nitrogen industry.
