Listen to this article

Servomex, the world leader in gas analysis, has appointed Barbara Marshik as Market Segment Manager – Power, based at the company’s Boston Technical Center in the USA

By providing leadership on Servomex’s world-leading range of combustion and emissions analysis solutions for the power generation market, including the introduction of Servomex’s new Laser 3 Plus TDL analyser series, Barbara will work closely with Servomex’s global network of business centres to ensure customers receive application solutions tailored to their precise process requirements.

Barbara joins Servomex from Massachusetts-based MKS Instruments, where she worked for more than 12 years, spending the last nine as the Applications Manager supporting the FTIR and NDIR gas analyser mobile and stationary source gaseous emissions monitoring businesses.

Prior to MKS she worked for medical device start-up company InfraReDx as the Director of Algorithm Development for an early stage NIR minimally invasive catheter, for Whatman (now Parker) as their R&D Manager for the Analytical Gas Generator product line, and at Galactic Industries as an Applications Scientist, creating user interfaces and algorithms for spectral analysis.

Barbara has extensive product development and product marketing experience handling multiple products and markets across a global customer base. She has spent more than 25 years in new product development, which included providing market directions through direct customer networking and VOCs.

Barbara said: “My wide range of experience in dealing with customers directly will help Servomex better understand the needs of their clients. This in turn means our customers can be sure that Servomex products will continue to address the demands of the power sector and provide the most reliable and cost-effective solutions to their requirements.”

Holding a PhD in Physical Chemistry and BS in Chemistry, Barbara’s interests outside of work include golf, cycling and hiking.

Servomex president Chuck Hurley said: “I am delighted to welcome Barbara to the company. The skills and experience she has gained across a number of roles in the industry will benefit both Servomex and our customers enormously. I am sure she will be a great asset, and wish her every success in her new role.”
