New Partnership Agreement Aims To Optimise Asset Maintenance & Investment
- The CoSMo Company and Schneider Electric partnership to empower grid operators with accurate infrastructure planning tools leveraging systemic planning applications
- An innovative digital technology and service strategy for utilities looking to optimise asset maintenance & investment planning
Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, and The CoSMo Company, [Complex Systems Modelling], developer of system-driven predictive analytics software, have signed a partnership agreement to offer an integrated software solution for Asset Investment Optimisation to a broad portfolio of field services for utilities.
Combining technologies to tackle utilities’ challenges
Utilities which are seeking to understand the health of their assets, prioritise maintenance activities and, in some cases, replace deteriorating infrastructure, can model and simulate how changing maintenance and replacement policies for one grid asset will impact other connected assets.
With this agreement, Schneider Electric and The Cosmo Company will propose a combined maintenance and modernisation consulting program adapted to generation plants and large utility networks. CoSMo’s systemic analytics solutions perform risk-based simulations and modelling to help prioritise investment and replacement plans, adding value and differentiating Schneider’s digital and consulting services.
The signature of this agreement with The CoSMo Company will enable Schneider Electric to further support its global network of national and international utility customers by leveraging advanced tools to design, simulate, measure and optimise CAPEX and OPEX assessment plans.
CoSMo will benefit from Schneider Electric’s broad commercial footprint with utility partners across the globe, leveraging Schneider’s vast installed base (tracking over +10 million legacy assets) and a strong global team of specialised experts actively engaged in ensuring maximum asset availability.
This is delivered through a +3000-strong service network covering both locally deployed electrical distribution field services, such as maintenance, spare part delivery and retrofit upgrades as well as digital technologies for smarter modernisation strategies.
Supporting utilities digital transformation to a more distributed and connected energy world
“In today’s utility environment, grid operators are struggling to balance the impact of ageing infrastructures and workforces with limited investment budgets. This is leading to increased risks due to grid overloads and operational inefficiencies from underutilised assets which highlight how traditional grid upgrades alone are no longer relevant”, said Frédéric Godemel, Commercial SVP Energy Business. “This agreement with CoSMo will enable us to develop a differentiated consulting service help decomplexify the operations of the world’s largest utilities.”
The CoSMo Company’s software will support utilities in their digital transformation through better understanding their complex systems and leveraging that complexity to meet corporate KPIs. “CoSMo’s industry validated technology provides utilities with the opportunity to optimise their maintenance and renewal strategies and take advantage of the complex systems they manage,” explained Hugues de Bantel, CEO of The CoSMo Company. “I am looking forward to our collaboration with Schneider Electric opening our decision management solutions to utilities throughout the world.”
