100% tight shut-off guaranteed with new generation of FABA® bellow-sealed valves
ARI-Armaturen UK Limited, worldwide leaders in the manufacture and supply of process valves, has unveiled its latest generation of FABA bellow-sealed valves. The new FABA range offers 3 versions with more than 17,000 variants, all incorporating innovative technology that guarantees even better performance, 100% tight shut-off and extended service life.
Commenting on the product developments, Tony Harrison, Operations Manager, said, “ARI-Armaturen has invested significantly in product development and the new FABA range offers world-beating bellow-sealed valves. The exceptionally tight shut-off is achieved by the marginal seat arrangement which boasts several important new features:
– The angles of the seat and the plug are slightly different, resulting in a very narrow sealing area
– The narrow contact means the force provided by the spindle is concentrated over a very small area, resulting in very high sealing pressure
– The fine thread on the spindle increases this force even further
– The difference in angles and the high pressure means that any dirt that adheres to the seat is dislodged.
High specification materials have been used for the seat, plug and spindle throughout the new FABA range and the high quality German engineering will also extend the service life of the valve and improve process efficiency.”
The FABA®-Plus is designed for all standard applications and features a reinforced bellows welded to the stem rather than to the plug. A new bonnet design makes it lighter and more resistant to water hammer and options include a spring and loose regulating plug which allows the FABA to be used as a combined check/stop valve.
The FABA®-Supra i is for arduous industrial applications. Features include a reinforced bellows welded to the stem and a two bolt emergency gland design. A combined shroud and guide welded to the valve body provides even better protection from water hammer, improved plug stability for greater toleration of high differential pressures.
The FABA®-Supra C is specially designed for the chemical industry and again features a reinforced bellows welded to the stem of the valve and a two bolt emergency gland design. A guided plug improves plug stability and allows greater differential pressures and a two- piece spindle assembly gives the option of retro-fitting a pneumatic actuator.
ARI-Armaturen applies stringent testing procedures to all its products and FABA valves undergo rigid quality controls to ensure they meet even the most challenging application. A final test with air (leakage rate 1 according to DIN 3230 or “A” according top DIN EN 12266) is compulsory along with a helium test on the bellows which also has to withstand more than 10,000 complete cycles in a series of endurance trials.
