For the 5th consecutive year Grundfos Pumps were delighted to be announced as winners at the highly regarded Green Apple Environment Awards, run by The Green Organisation that were recently held in the most prestigious settings – The House of Commons.
Entering the Engineering Category in 2009 with their Pump Audit Tool, the Grundfos entry explained the real benefits to corporate end-users and why they should give such a level of focus to their pump systems, by demonstrating that pumps are the single largest user of electricity in industrial and commercial applications in the UK. In fact they consume an incredible 47.4TWh of electricity, which in turn represents some 32% of all electric motor consumption in industry and commerce.

The Pump Audit Tool system from Grundfos offers businesses a professional on-site check-up for pumping systems by measuring the overall efficiency of their current pumps in situ. A report is then drawn up and presented to the customer that includes recommendations that offer the customer various options, all of which will mean that their system will operate more efficiently. These in turn will save money on bills as well as contributing towards conserving precious energy resources.
The judges could see the obvious benefits of such a tool and awarded it and Grundfos with a coveted Gold Apple Award.
