Advanced synthetic grease helps increase uptime and reduce costs

  • Mobilith SHCTM 100 synthetic grease helps eliminate hammer crusher bearing overheating and failures
  • Dalian Cement Group reduces unscheduled downtime, bearing replacement and associated labour costs
  • Enhances safety by reducing employee-equipment interaction

ExxonMobil helped Dalian Cement Group Co., Ltd. save $153,000 annually by converting the cement manufacturer’s hammer crusher bearings to Mobilith SHCTM 100 synthetic grease.

The lubricant helped the China-based company improve bearing performance, eliminating failures and improving overall productivity while enhancing safety.

A hammer crusher operated by Dalian Cement Group was frequently overheating, resulting in multiple bearing failures. After an on-site investigation, ExxonMobil engineers recommended the company switch its conventional lubricant to Mobilith SHC 100 synthetic grease.

The high performance grease is formulated for extreme environments, and its advanced formulation resists viscosity thinning and oxidation at elevated temperatures.

After transitioning to Mobilith SHC 100, the hammer crusher bearings no longer experienced overheating problems, which significantly reduced bearing failures and related unscheduled downtime. These benefits resulted in significant cost savings and enhanced safety by reducing employee-equipment interaction.

High temperature applications can take a heavy toll on industrial equipment, and in these demanding environments, using the right lubricants is critical to ensuring optimal reliability,” said Imtiaz Ahmed, Asia-Pacific Mobil SHC Advisor at ExxonMobil. “A simple changeover to Mobil SHC synthetic greases allowed Dalian Cement Group to immediately improve crusher bearing protection and reduce unscheduled downtime.”
