MTU DIESEL RECOGNITION FOR TRANTER INTERNATIONAL IN ANNUAL SUPPLIER AWARDS

Tranter International AB has received an award from MTU Friedrichshafen in its annual supplier evaluation programme for demonstrating ‘best improvement.’ Tranter supplies titanium plates for the seawater cooler of the 2000 series MTU marine diesel unit and the news is recognition of Tranter’s product quality and supply performance at a time when titanium was in short supply.

“MTU constantly evaluates all its suppliers according to delivery performance, quality and price development,” commented Tranter International’s Central European sales director Manfred Maierhofer. “They are a prestigious customer and we are very proud to have won this award for 2007 against stiff competition.”

The presentation of the award was made by MTU’s Dr Wolters and Eric Manning to Tranter International’s European managing director, Torbjörn Lantz, Lars Weper and Manfred Maierhofer at a recent ceremony in Friedhofen.

Tranter’s titanium plates for the Series 2000 seawater cooler complement the power unit’s high power density, low weight and easy operation and maintenance characteristics. MTU has supplied over 74000 units mainly into commercial vehicles and yachts.
