Compressed air system supplier celebrates 25-year milestone

Listen to this article

It was party time for CompAir distributor, BCAS Limited, recently as the company celebrated its 25th year in business.

BCAS has developed a wealth of experience in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of compressed air systems and are ideally placed to deliver application specific “turnkey” solutions to satisfy clients’ compressed air and wider engineering needs.

According to managing director, David Parfitt, the company’s continued success can be attributed to its excellent relationship with premier OEMs – including CompAir, Hydrovane and Elmo Rietschle – combined with a dedicated focus and can-do attitude towards customer service:

“Many companies in the compressed air industry offer very similar products, the key differentiator is the added value that can be provided through dedicated customer service”

“Our customers, some of whom have been with us since day one, quite rightly expect our expert knowledge and quality products as a “given” but also place a significant value on the personal touch and service commitment that we are able to offer. All of our engineers are factory trained and highly accredited, and many customers now ask for our engineers by name, which is testament to the relationships and, essentially, partnerships we have established with clients over the years”

Based in South Oxfordshire, the company employs 28 people and is part of the TFG Group, a nationwide facilities maintenance and asset management organisation pioneered by Trevor Davison, the founder of BCAS Limited.

In 2004, BCAS merged with air conditioning and refrigeration specialist, Scotford & Teasdale, with the aim of offering an extended range of associated services to customers – this improved service offering expansion has proved particularly successful.

In the latest step forward, the company has moved to improve the ways in which it communicates with customers, including the launch of a new website, adding innovative electronic direct marketing capabilities and an increased use of social media channels.

David Parfitt adds: “We have to be aware that this years “seven” is next year’s “six” and look at ways where we can collectively seek improvement and continually re-invent ourselves.

“We can no longer rely on ‘traditional’ sales methods to grow our business. We have a dedicated sales and marketing team that is tasked with identifying customers’ evolving needs and providing the tailored solutions to meet them.

“These solutions must have a leaning towards energy efficiency, the environment and sustainability but be encompassed within a value for money, client centric delivery.

“The compressed air market is evolving, we’re no longer selling directly to one person within a company, and we have to consider the different levels of expectation and need from a number of stakeholders including managing directors, financial directors, operations directors and engineers.

“By continuing to focus on strong customer service delivery, and by working hand in hand with our chosen brand partners, we’re confident of achieving even greater success in the years to come.”
