Manufacturer of high-technology measurement instruments invests in the future

Listen to this article

Malvern-based Pulsar Process Measurement is a growing manufacturer of high-technology measurement instruments, exporting all over the world to public utilities and major process industries. As they grow, they are keen to employ and develop young talent, especially from the local area.

Local talent including Samantha Young, a recent graduate who has returned to the area from Bournemouth University following her degree in Events Management. Sam is Marketing Assistant, looking after Pulsar’s wide range of marketing activities, from international exhibition organisation to the redevelopment of the Company website. Production Technicians Laura Beard, Jake Varndal and Tom Edwards are involved in the manufacture of Pulsar’s range of ultrasonic level measurement equipment. Mike Smith was recently promoted to Stores Supervisor after the retirement of one of Pulsar’s longest-serving members of staff and has impressed everyone with his organisation and can-do attitude. Another graduate to join the team has been Nick Amos, who brings the skills learnt during his degree in Computer Graphics to bear in Pulsar’s R&D department.

As Keith Flint, one of Pulsar’s directors, said; ‘Pulsar started up in 1997, but we still think of ourselves as a young company in many ways. We recognise that we should be investing in young people, and particularly young local people, as much as we can to make sure we have the skills in place for the long-term future of the business.’
