An alliance between EDF Fenice and Calidad Pascual for industrial competitiveness
EDF Group”s energy services supplier EDF Fenice, and the Spanish dairysector leader Calidad Pascual, have signed a comprehensive energy performance contract aimed at reducing the Spanish producer”s consumption and costs at its Gurb (Barcelona) site.
EDF Fenice will take over the management of the site”s energy facilities and provide pre-financing of energy efficiency investments over a 10-year period. This optimisation will cover the entire lifecycle of energy assets: optimisation of plant design (audit, project engineering), equipment (purchase of efficient technologies), machine use (operation & maintenance) and consumption vectors such as electricity, heating and cooling, compressed air and process water. This improvement package will reduce the client”s overall energy bill, thus improving its competitiveness at the same time as reducing its environmental footprint.
Moreover, this advance investment in energy by EDF Fenice will enable Calidad Pascual to retain its capacity to finance expenditure on its core business.
Therefore, the alliance is a truly comprehensive energy partnership: cooperation between teams at the production site, the sharing of energy efficiency gains achieved jointly, and the future extension of this cooperation to other Calidad Pascual production sites.
