New Website Helps Engineers in the Process Industries Take Control of MRO Operations
ERIKS has launched a new website dedicated to helping UK industry drive cost out of its indirect supply chain operations.
ERIKS On-site, is packed with high quality information about parts purchasing strategies; indirect supply chain management; efficient storeroom operations and outsourcing strategies.
The site includes white papers, infographics, by-lined articles from industry experts and PowerPoint presentations, all of which can help bring MRO engineers, storeroom managers and purchasing manager’s up-to-speed with indirect supply chain problems and their potential solutions.
Andy Silver, IS Commercial and Operations Director at ERIKS UK, commented: “We didn’t want the new site to be just a menu of services. The issues surrounding the indirect supply chain, including parts procurement, supply chain management and storeroom operations need debating amongst multiple stakeholders in order to find solutions. ”
ERIKS’ decision to create a separate website for its on-site services was driven by the need to give MRO engineers more information about the cost of its MRO operations. For example, ERIKS estimates that 30-40% of an engineer’s time can be spent sourcing and buying product, whilst 10-15% of time can be wasted in walking to stores and waiting to receive a part.
“Indirect supply chain operations such as parts procurement, warehousing and inventory control can become a financial black hole for industry,” says Mr Silver. “All-too-often the indirect supply chain is overlooked in attempts to take control of manufacturing or processing costs. ERIKS On-site covers everything from racking and storeroom optimisation through to complex parts procurement strategies and is a must for all MRO engineers.”
