FORTRESS TECHNOLOGY TO SHOW HIGH PERFORMANCE METAL DETECTION SYSTEMS INCLUDING GRAVITY & PIPELINE MODELS
For inspection of bulk, freefalling and pumped liquid and paste food products
Fortress Technology will be showing a Vector integrated conveyor and metal detector system designed to meet the latest supermarket retailer standards by comprising an audible or visual alarm to indicate when there have been metal rejects in order to help identify potential issues early. It will incorporate a Gravity metal detector for accurate inspection of bulk dry, powder or granular products and feature a robust Stealth control panel specially developed for use in harsh production environments and incorporating a USB port for data capture. Other equipment on display will include an ultra slim Vertex for detecting freefalling product and Pipeline for inspecting liquids and pastes.
Fully compliant with British Retail Consortium (BRC) and English European Food Safety Inspection Service (EFSIS) specifications, the Fortress Technology Vector integrated conveyor system is a convenient and effective all-in-one solution developed to achieve the most accurate inspection results by optimising the performance of Phantom metal detectors.
Purpose built to integrate with standard rectangular aperture metal detectors, the Vector offers reliable performance even after washdown. Easy to clean and maintain, the machine features a fully modular design and is robustly constructed to industrial specifications using a stainless steel frame.
Integrated with the Vector conveyor at the show will be a Gravity metal detector which has been developed to inspect a broad spectrum of bulk products that can be gravity fed through a pipe, including flour, rice, cereals, powders, corn, sugar, chemicals and nuts. Capable of detecting and rejecting both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, the robust and reliable system incorporates the latest digital signal processing (DSP) technology for unrivalled precision, speed and inspection results.
Available with standard and custom aperture or pipe type and sizes, Fortress Technology’s gravity metal detector features a modular design and is built with anti-static pipes, air control and a ceiling support frame. An automatic reject valve diverts contaminated product into a reject tank. The Fortress UltraSense function ensures high sensitivity levels for detecting the smallest of metal contaminants. A variety of control panel options are also offered.
Offering simple operation, outstanding reliability and exceptional performance, the Stealth control panel’s modular design means fewer product parts resulting in greater reliability. Produced from the toughest Lexan material, the Stealth is made to withstand the harshest production conditions.
Providing excellent return on investment, Stealth has been developed for future redesigns and new elements of the machine can also be retrofitted to older models, ensuring spare parts and upgrades for additional functionality are readily available. The Stealth model also offers the capability to capture performance information, such as rejects and faults, and store them onto a USB device for management reporting.
For heightened stability and performance in wet or heavy duty product applications, IP69K certified extra rugged casing has been used. The addition of an epoxy chute makes this unit water resistant.
Ideal for inline processing applications where space is limited, the ultra-slim Vertex detects metal contaminants in freefalling product prior to final packaging. Typically situated between a Multihead Weigher and a Vertical Form Fill Seal machine, product is gravity fed through the detector’s aperture before being sealed in a pouch by a bagger.
Vertex is best-suited solution for applications where packaging is metallic or too large for standard detectors. Using Core DSP technology, the system detects the smallest metal contaminants including pieces of wire, shavings and swarf.
Fortress Technology’s Pipeline metal detector is ideal for inline inspection of pumped liquids and pastes such as soups, sauces, chocolate, jams, sausage meats and juices that are transported through a pipe. Several material options are available for the non-metallic pipe including nylon, rubber and Teflon for the more demanding high temperature / pressure applications. An automatic reject valve can be incorporated into the system to remove contaminated product from the flow.
