ABB opens new possibilities for optimising instrument performance with SmartMaster
Managing large fleets of instruments has got easier with the launch of ABB’s Ability™ SmartMaster Asset Performance Management (APM) system. Gathering, analysing, and verifying diagnostic data remotely, SmartMaster provides a unified platform for verification and condition monitoring of instrumentation and field devices in the water, wastewater, chemical, oil & gas, and other industries.
The platform can be used with a range of ABB and third-party instruments, including flowmeters, level meters, temperature, and pressure sensors.
Many facilities have installed bases of hundreds or even thousands of devices, often in hard to reach and hazardous places. Available as an on premise or cloud-based solution, SmartMaster enables plant operators to receive overviews of the status of individual instruments straight from the field to their phone, tablet, or other smart device.
Using data from SmartMaster, operators can identify potential problems and take timely actions including planning servicing, ordering spare parts, or device replacement.
