ABB TRANSMITTERS HAVE TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE MEASUREMENT COVERED IN SAFETY-CRITICAL APPLICATIONS
Certified Temperature and Pressure Transmitters for SIL2 Safety-critical Applications
ABB can now offer TUV independently certified temperature and pressure transmitters for SIL2 safety-critical applications, ensuring that the instruments are fully compliant with IEC61508 and IEC61511.
TUV certification means that the instruments have already been tested and reduces the need for users to carry out their own detailed evaluations. Users therefore stand to enjoy significant cost savings by spending less time verifying their measurements of pressure and temperature. For example, the TUV testing programme found that ABB transmitters offer the lowest levels of dangerous failure, enabling users to significantly increase the interval between proof tests.
Pressure transmitters
ABB 268 series safety pressure transmitters are available in gauge, absolute and differential pressure versions. Process wetted materials can be specified for the most difficult applications, including Superduplex stainless steel, Inconel 625 and uniquely HastelloyC2000 as standard. ABBs all-welded remote seals provide solutions for high temperature applications especially under vacuum. ATEX, FM, CSA and GOST hazardous area certification is available as standard.
Hot temperature products
ABB can now also offer temperature transmitters with a SIL2 option and sensor drift detection. The TTH300 is the worlds first head-mounted HART temperature transmitter with SIL2 certification. The TTF300 is a field-mounted alternative and the TTF350 offers dual-compartment separation of the electronics for harsh environments.
All three offer extended diagnostic functionality according to Namur NE107 and fault signalling via HART commands or via ABBs maintenance requirement pulse. They also provide ATEX, FM, CSA and GOST certification.
ABB sensors and transmitters can now be used in combination to provide the safest and most accurate temperature measurement available.
