Instro AI Solutions and AMRC Cymru Invite UK Manufacturers to Unlock New Efficiencies Through Innovation-Funded AI Trials

Listen to this article

Instro AI Solutions, in collaboration with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) Cymru, is excited to announce a new initiative aimed at helping UK manufacturers boost their efficiency through innovative, AI-driven trials. These Growth Through Innovation-funded Generative AI trials are designed to explore how AI-powered knowledge assistants can revolutionize the manufacturing landscape in the UK. Selected manufacturers will have the opportunity to test tailored AI tools that offer chat-style support for site engineers, utilizing their own operational data and materials.

Participants will evaluate the tangible business advantages of Generative AI in crucial areas like machine troubleshooting, staff training, and customer service. For instance, a recent implementation of Instro’s AI Assistant at AMADA, a prominent sheet metal machinery manufacturer, has already resulted in a remarkable saving of over 950 field engineering hours.

Addressing the Hidden Costs of Information Overload

Many businesses in the UK manufacturing sector face challenges with information bottlenecks. Whether it’s finding technical specifications, locating safety procedures, or answering customer inquiries, employees often find themselves wasting precious time sifting through PDFs, spreadsheets, or turning to overloaded senior colleagues for help.

Instro AI Solutions has developed a customizable Generative AI Assistant specifically for the industrial sector. This tool redefines how knowledge is accessed and utilized by staff, partners, and customers alike. With training on technical documentation, standard operating procedures, training manuals, customer data, and compliance processes, the AI Assistant delivers instant, accurate, and context-sensitive responses.

What sets the Instro AI Assistant apart from traditional search tools or chatbots is its ability to interpret complex queries, summarize dense documents, guide users to relevant sources, and tailor responses to fit an organization’s unique terminology and workflows.

Phil Sanders, who co-founded and serves as the Commercial Director at Instro AI Solutions, shared his thoughts:

ā€œTogether, we are giving manufacturers a way to unlock value hidden in their documentation and processes. With the AMRC as our partner, we’re showing how generative AI can deliver real outcomes—faster decisions, better training, and more consistent customer experiences.ā€

Fueled by Grant Funding and Sector Expertise

This trial is backed by AMRC Cymru and is 45% funded through the Growth Through Innovation grant. AMRC Cymru brings a wealth of knowledge in digital transformation and manufacturing innovation, ensuring that the AI tools developed are both practical and impactful.

Pritesh Patel senior manufacturing research engineer

Pritesh Patel, Senior Manufacturing Research Engineer – AI at AMRC Cymru, remarked:

ā€œThis collaboration puts manufacturers at the heart of the innovation process. These trials will help businesses test and shape a technology solution that’s practical, measurable, and tailored to their sector.ā€

Ready to make a difference? Join us in shaping the future of AI in manufacturing!

We’re excited to announce that four prototype AI Assistants will be co-developed alongside early adopter manufacturers from all over the UK. By teaming up with Instro AI Solutions and AMRC Cymru, participating businesses will have the chance to customize their AI Assistant using their own data, documents, and processes.

These AI Assistants will be put to the test in real-world operations for four weeks, with support from engineering, compliance, sales, and customer service teams.

At the conclusion of the program, each business will receive a personalized impact report that includes:

  • Measured time savings across support, technical, and commercial teams
  • Use case insights, such as enhanced onboarding, audit readiness, and quicker customer responses
  • User feedback featuring AI accuracy scores and estimated return on investment
  • A strategic overview to help guide future technology adoption and scaling

If you’re interested in applying or want to learn more about the program, head over to [Instro AI’s website] or reach out to [AMRC Cymru]. This is a fantastic opportunity for UK manufacturers to test out cutting-edge AI designed specifically for industrial needs—boosting digital transformation while providing real operational value!
