Improve performance in sewage treatment plants for sludge dewatering and similar separation tasks
Every new decanter centrifuge in Alfa Laval’s ALDEC G range is equipped with a new control system that is so easy to use they have dubbed it 2 Touch.
The Aldec G2 already provides proven performance in sewage treatment plants for sludge dewatering and similar separation tasks and the addition of the 2 Touch control system is expected to increase efficiency and operational speed.
The name describes the 2 Touch’s functionality; two touches are all an operator needs to view any information about the decanter’s operation. User manuals, presentations, service videos and other information can also be called up with a couple of touches. Graphics rather than words are used whenever possible to make instructions and advice much simpler to absorb and follow.
The 2 Touch system works with multiple communication protocols, which means that a decanter can be installed and aligned with a customer’s existing equipment very rapidly once on site. The main PLC and standard remote I/O are essential components in the 2TOUCH core controller. Further I/O islands may be added if required. By using a mix of standard, proven components, Alfa Laval has also future-proofed 2 Touch.
A large format (15”) screen provides extremely clear images that enable the operator to monitor and trouble- shoot the complete separation or dewatering process. This aids process efficiency and also simplifies maintenance and service scheduling. The 2 Touch’s built-in modem provides the facility for IF remote monitoring, if required.
