Atlas Copco launches ultra-compact, petrol-driven portable air compressor
Portable air compressor
Atlas Copco has launched its smallest ever portable air compressor, the XAS 27, developed to offer portable air users exceptional value combined with power, reliability and durability. The new XAS 27 (27l/s, 7bar) offers users exceptional versatility due to its compact dimensions and is also the first product in Atlas Copco’s portable air compressor range to be powered by a petrol engine.
The XAS 27 weighs just over 200kg and has an undercarriage that allows the unit to be placed wherever it’s needed, without involving any heavy lifting. As a result, the unit can be handled and manoeuvred easily into the best working position. The XAS 27 is also small enough to fit through commercial doorways or in an elevator.Â
Whether running pneumatic breakers, chippers, hammers, or small hand tools, the one-tool XAS 27 can handle a full range of projects such as demolition, finishing and renovation. A tough, reliable Honda petrol engine, which exceeds existing emissions regulations, drives Atlas Copco’s new C55 compressor element via a V-Belt drive complete with a belt tensioning rail system.
The XAS 27 is simple to operate and easy to maintain. The XAS 27 canopy features the successful polyethylene concept taken from the HardHatTM- line combined with zincor-treated steel to give maximum protection. The fuel tank is part of the canopy and incorporates an electric fan for efficient cooling. With the hood open, the XAS 27 is very easy to service, with ready access to the air oil separator, its spin-on filter and all other filter units, to help make optimal use of the XAS 27with minimal service costs.
For applications where an even simpler, more compact compressor is needed, a trolley mounted version is also available.
