BACOU-DALLOZ BECOMES SPERIAN PROTECTION
A new unifying identity that embodies the Groups values- the symbol of a new impetus and international expansion as part of the Groups ongoing strategic development
Bacou-Dalloz, world market leader in personal protective equipment (PPE), becomes Sperian Protection and is adopting a new unifying identity. Symbolising the Groups international expansion strategy, Sperian will be the umbrella brand name bringing together the entire brand portfolio around shared values. Introducing the new identity, Henri-Dominique Petit, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bacou-Dalloz declared “In order to launch this new stage in our history, reflect our new positioning and assert our ambitions as a Group, Bacou-Dalloz is changing its name to Sperian Protection. Chosen to carry our values to the highest level and illustrate the unity of all those who work for the Group, Sperian is intended to symbolise the optimum quality of our products, advice and services”. ***
A Unifying Identity
Sperian is a balance of strong and soft sounds and evokes:
– the expertise of a Group specialising in the protection of people at work
– the relationship of trust between a worker and his equipment,
– the confidence existing between the Group and its customers.
As a strong identifying symbol, the new logo reflects our duty to protect people in their workplace: the “S” is formed by two protective blue arms representing the Groups technology control and knowledge, wrapped around a core in orange that symbolises life and energy at work.
Simple, and modern, this new identity reflects the trust, respect, excellence and performance, which are driving forces for the Groups development.
A New Impetus
The Groups new identity will be unveiled gradually over the summer. For instance, Bacou-Dalloz shares will be listed on the Eurolist market of the Euronext stock exchange under the name of Sperian Protection from 20 August 2007 in Paris.
Customer-focused events will be held during the A+A trade fair in Dsseldorf, Germany and at the NSC congress in Chicago. This will be supported by an international advertising campaign to promote the Groups new identity in the professional and general press. These actions will develop Sperians international reputation. Short, easy to remember and easy to pronounce in all languages, Sperian will be the symbol of high performance PPE products and services all over the world.
Strategic Development
This decision is central to Bacou-Dallozs strategy and constitutes a significant step in the process of optimising and streamlining the brand portfolio.
In line with its expansion strategy, the Group has made two major announcements during the last few weeks:
– the acquisition of the Norwegian company Nacre AS, specialists in intelligent earplugs
– and the opening of a new decontamination suit production plant in France.
