BETE BUCKS THE TREND WITH IT AWARD NOMINATION

Listen to this article

Small to medium sized businesses in the manufacturing / engineering sector are often overlooked when it comes to awards for adopting new information technology where usually it’s the bigger, ‘blue chip’ organisations who receive recognition. The perception is that small to medium sized engineering companies lag behind other sectors in their investment and implementation of IT. However, the perception is not entirely fair as in many cases, the reality is that they don’t actually lag behind it’s just that their use of IT is less obvious and so passes under the awards ‘radar’.

Nozzle and Spraying System specialist BETE Ltd, who represent the backbone of the UK engineering and manufacturing sector, are therefore delighted to have been shortlisted for an award at the annual Storage, Virtualisation and Cloud (SVC) Awards. Whilst less ‘exciting’ and less complex than other high-profile IT projects, BETE’s investment in and implementation of a clear and concise website with a high-quality back-end system has been acknowledged by the first stage of the judging process of the SVC awards. The main philosophy behind BETE’s IT project was:

  • Rather than have flashy new websites, focus on quality back-end systems that ensure quick, accurate technical information is available to customers with project deadlines.
  • Rather than extensive use of the latest social media marketing our IT is designed to ensure that  often very complex product sets are picked, assembled and shipped with complete accuracy.
  • Rather than viral video marketing campaigns, focus on highly searchable video, pdf and web content that allows customers to access the technical information they need.

The relevance and success of BETE’s philosophy has not been overlooked as confirmed by their being shortlisted for an award at the annual Storage, Virtualisation and Cloud awards.

With this in mind BETE Ltd are asking you, their valued customers and suppliers, to support their bid to win. The shortlist is very short indeed as it’s down to just two companies, the other being an online retailer of women’s clothing. The contest is decided by public vote so we are asking you, in the interests of recognition for the engineering sector, if you wouldn”t mind clicking on the link below and voting for BETE Ltd as it would be greatly appreciated.
