H2O GmbH is a New Partner of the Blue Competence Sustainability Initiative
Sustainability is the hot topic of our time. In a world of dwindling natural resources, taking environmental responsibility is absolutely essential. That’s why the German Engineering Association (VDMA) launched the Blue Competence sustainability initiative. Since its launch in early 2011, around 400 partners from the European mechanical engineering industry have joined the network, and H2O GmbH from Steinen, Germany, is now among them. The company qualified as a partner of the initiative by actively implementing sustainability in the company and its products.
Sustainability is firmly embedded in the company’s values. Since its founding in 1999, H2O GmbH has pursued the vision to achieve zero liquid discharge in industrial production. “For us, sustainability means taking on social, economic and environmental responsibility,” say Matthias Fickenscher and Frank Schlegel, Managing Partners of H2O GmbH.
The company’s innovative products serve to sustainably process industrial wastewater. Unlike traditional processing methods, the quality of the treated water is so high that it can be reused in the production process. This enables zero liquid discharge production and ensures that no residual impurities are released into the environment, while simultaneously saving valuable fresh water resources. This way, H2O actively contributes to protecting our environment so that future generations can live in a clean environment.
