Bronkhorst UK were once again given a challenging application to dose a high quantity of salt water into drinking cans to test the integrity of the enamel.
The application called for a dose of 330g in 4 seconds with an accuracy of +/- 1.5…2%.
The customer’s previous solution was using a stepper motor and posi-drive but that regularly caused challenges with component failure, down time and a large inventory of spares.
The Bronkhorst solution combined the ideal ranged Coriolis flow-meter, an engineered gear pump and an inter-linking inverter with the intention to obtain an overall accuracy approaching +/-1% of reading. This is a standard solution for Bronkhorst and would be achieved by utilising only the on-board PID control and standard counter function; however, some simple additional fine tuning ensured the instrument consistently outperformed these anticipated figures with an impressive 10 doses, each in 4 seconds, all within +/-0.7% of reading.
