Cost Efficient and Effective Pipeline Protection Filters
The wide range of filtration products available from SPX’s Airpel Series suit many applications within a power generation facility. The filters offer a cost effective method of providing protection of more expensive equipment in the pipeline, such as pumps, valves and heat exchangers. Ideal for areas such as steam lines and raw water intake, the filters come in single, dual and multi-basket configurations and operate at pressures up to 50bar.
Single filters offer an extremely cost effective protection system and can be used where flow can be shut off for short cleaning periods. They have high quality 316 grade stainless steel baskets with large filtration areas to minimise pressure drop and can be fitted with differential pressure indicators and transmitters to reduce maintenance by ensuring cleaning is only carried out when required.
Also within the Airpel range are dual and dual multi-basket models which offer the capability to clean filters during continuous flow. Where there is continuous operation and lower maintenance preferred, manual and automatic self-cleaning filters and back-flushing strainers are also available. All Airpel filters come in a range of standard housings, including Cast Steel, Cast Iron, Stainless Steel and Gunmetal to best suit any given application.
Airpel filters have been supplied globally for many years and these products are widely used and well proven in power industry applications. Quick release covers on the filters ensure rapid and easy maintenance to minimise any process downtime. Models also have a compact design to ensure a small footprint and easy installation.
Overall, the SPX Airpel Series offers a quality, cost efficient and highly effective solution for protecting valuable pipeline equipment across a power utility.
Options such as remote signalling are available to suit many applications and a wide range of sizes and materials are available from standard stock to meet budget and delivery requirements.
Through brands such as Airpel, Plenty, Dollinger and Vokes, SPX has served the power industry for decades with solutions which offer effective, efficient and sustainable operation. SPX has a continued programme of research and development to ensure its products meet the challenges the power industry faces now and for the future. The Airpel Series is just one example of many solutions it offers to bring real benefits across a wide range of applications.
