Cylindrical Thermal Barrier when logging is required to roll through an oven

Listen to this article

Data logging specialists Signatrol has launched a new cylindrical Thermal Barrier ideal for use when a logger is required to roll through an oven, often in engineering heat processing applications.

Made of high grade stainless steel with low thermal conductivity, the Thermal Barrier means that the logger can be fully protected inside, with wires exiting in one place only, as it passes through the heat process. The thermal barrier passes through the oven along with the product, meaning temperature sensor wires are very short and cannot get caught up in the oven mechanics.
By using a Thermal Barrier users can get a complete thermal profile of their oven. This ensures that there are no cold or cool spots and that a consistent temperature is maintained. The Barrier and logger can also be used to check energy consumption and potential cost savings – could the oven be run at a lower temperature to achieve the same results for example. Potential problems such as burner issues can also be addressed by checking the consistency of temperature throughout the oven.
