Czech Republic and Slovakia to benefit from WMFTG direct sales support
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) has extended its direct sales and technical support to customers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This change applies to all products within WMFTG’s extensive portfolio of fluid handling and associated fluid path technologies.
Located in Prague, the office will be staffed by a team of four local experts and led by Jan Akrman in his role as Managing Director of the Czech region.
For customers from the Czech´s and Slovak´s main industries – which includes big-name brands in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical and pulp and paper sectors, the presence of local sales engineering expertise will be much welcomed.
“The main difference from our customers’ perspective will be the added value that direct contact with the manufacturer brings,” says Jan Akrman. “We know what the market wants: easier and faster access to the information and support they need. Plus, there’s often a requirement for very precise, specialist information, which distributors are often unable to provide. It’s vital that we respond to this – and I am absolutely delighted to lead our team of local application specialists.”
Growth and potential
“WMFTG is already well known in the Czech and Slovak industrial and process market, however I can see plenty of opportunities for all our brands,” says Jan Akrman. “In particular, our sinusoidal MasoSine technology offers vast potential for efficiencies in the growing food and beverage sector. It is an excellent and proven technology offering for this sector and there’s huge potential here for wide-spread uptake.”
In addition to the obvious benefits of local expertise, Czech and Slovak customers have direct contact with WMFTG’s specialist application engineers for very niche and non-standard applications where customised products are required.
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group has a global network of operations including ten factories and 43 direct sales offices. The Company is part of the Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc Group and is headquartered in Falmouth, UK.

About us
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) peristaltic tube and hose pumps meet requirements including: value for money; low cost of ownership; reliability and ease of maintenance to the food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining and many other industries.
We demonstrate how pumps deliver significant process efficiencies over the lifetime of the equipment. Whether performing flavouring addition in food processing, chemical metering in water treatment or mineral recovery, we have a solution which can cut pump downtime and reduce costs through higher accuracy metering and transfer. WMFTG has dedicated application engineers available to help customers make the right pump and tubing choice from a range providing microlitres per minute to 80 cubic metres per hour flow rates.
The only part of the pump to come into contact with the product is the tube or hose. This means there are no seals or valves that can wear or fail. Replacing the tube or hose can be performed quickly and safely. Peristaltic pump benefits include:
Total fluid containment with no seals No ancillaries Handle viscous and abrasive slurries and sludge Self-priming capability Dry running without damage to the pump In addition to their range of positive displacement pumps, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group has added PTFE-lined chemical and industrial hoses to their range. Aflex hoses are reinforced to withstand the most severe conditions and use.
