DOSING OF FIBRES IN CONFORMITY WITH THE ATEX DIRECTIVE 94/9/EC

Listen to this article

The fibre dosing system FiberDos (fig 1 & 2) replaces manual additions of fibers during the process of bulk mixtures produced in batches.

In terms of application the system is very flexible it can either be implemented into a dosing system for additives and pigments (for instance the m-tec Powerdos System) or operated as a stand alone system with the loss-in-weight dosing at various levels of automation.
With the system mentioned, it is possible to dose most of the common glass synthetics and cellulose fibers with length between 100um and 8 mm. Other sizes and or materials have to be individually tested.
Design and documentation have been revised in away that the fibers dosing system itself as well as the optional available downstream equipment (screw conveyor and batch hopper with slide valve) are now full compliance with the ATEX directive 94/9/EC for operation in ATEX zone 22
