The Economical Pinch Valve Design
The Pinch Valve design is the simplest on the market. Designed to solve bulk material handling with ease, the Pinch Valves” flexible elastomer sleeve inside the body can be pinched closed to cut off the flow of any media passing through. The rubber sleeves are specially designed with high-rebound elasticity and are available in a variety of different materials, depending on the application.
The Pinch Valve is virtually maintenance free – The sleeve is designed to be the valves only wetted part, and therefore the only part that should need replacing. Unlike other valve types such as butterfly valves, ball valves or diaphragm valves where there are multiple seals, rings, packing and other parts that need replacing regularly to keep the valve working.
Cost effective and economical are just two terms used to describe the Pinch Valve design. This reliable type of valve is designed to fulfil many applications for a wide range of industrial areas, some of which include:

Pinch Valve Design in Depth
A pinch valve design can either be positioned with the elastomer inner tubing as normally open or normally closed. When in the open position and media is passing through, the free passage ensures minimum flow resistance and prevents the pinch valve from becoming blocked or clogged.
AKO supply a Pinch Valve which is a hygienic design with easy-to- clean housing (CIP).
The different end connections make a pinch valve design very appealing, due to the vast range of connection types. These include BSP internally threaded sockets, Tri-Clamps, weld-on ends, flanges PN10/16 & ANSI 150, and threaded spigot.
Different body materials also make the pinch valve design a favourable choice. The housing materials are available in either aluminium, stainless steel or plastic, depending on the bore size and type of valve.
