Education kept in check with Grundfos pumps

With 11,000 students attending a range of campuses across a compact town centre site; Bolton University has grown into a highly regarded educational establishment since it received university status in 2005.

As part of their ongoing evaluation of their estate, Bolton University recently took up the offer of an energy check from Grundfos Pumps to assess the efficiency of their current pump stock. One of the experienced Grundfos Energy Solutions sales team attended site and undertook a detailed energy check. The results showed that there were substantial energy savings to be made by changing a number of existing circulator pumps and replacing them with new Grundfos MAGNA3 equivalents. The MAGNA3 range delivers medium and large circulator pumps that come complete with electronically controlled motors based on permanent magnet (PM) and compact stator technology and they already meet the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) level set for 2015

Within weeks of the energy check being conducted an order was received for the full project, and installation took place soon after. While on a post installation visit, the customer advised that they were “astounded” at the level of savings, the noise reduction and the slickness of the transfer to the new pumps. Definitely an outstanding result.
