ENDRESS+HAUSER HAS THE X FACTOR! INTRODUCING THE NEW 14-INCH PROMASS X
Endress+Hauser’s new Promass X is the only Coriolis flowmeter on the market that is completely immune to external factors. It offers outstanding measurement accuracy in diameters up to 14 inches – so it’s big in size but even bigger in performance!
Developed to meet the requirements of the oil & gas industry, Promass X delivers the highest capacity in the industry – a massive 725,000 barrels a day – whilst remaining relatively compact and lightweight. Typical applications include pipelines and transfers to and from tanker ships and road tankers. Robust and reliable, its NACE-compliant stainless steel construction enables it to be mounted offshore without worrying about corrosion. What’s more with MID (OIML R117) and PTB approvals for custody transfer and its capacity to operate in process temperatures of -50 to 180°C and process pressures up to 100 bar, the new Promass meter really has the X factor!
Accurately measuring flow in large pipelines has traditionally been a problem as volumetric or ultrasonic flowmeters have had to be used due to the large pipe diameters involved. With the launch of the new Promass X that offers 0.05% accuracy in pipelines up to 14 inches, costly measurement inaccuracies are a thing of the past! It provides the best accuracy on the market for custody transfer on oil and gas lines, ensuring that both the buyer and seller know exactly how much product is changing hands.
The key to Promass X’s success is its clever 4-tube design. By making better use of the circular area, resistance to flow and pressure loss is greatly reduced. Better still, immunity to external effects is significantly improved. Indeed, independent tests have shown significant improvements in measurement reliability, resulting in impressive stability and ensuring outstanding accuracy for both mass flow and density measurement. These outstanding results are delivered even under the exacting requirements often found in the measurement of hydrocarbons, including entrained gas and particles. Considering the amount of liquids and gases going through pipelines and the growing prices of these commodities, this provides significant cost benefits as it substantially reduces uncertainty.
