ENGINEERING COMPANY DOUBLES NUMBER OF UK STAFF THANKS TO SUCCESS IN PHARMACEUTICAL, FOOD AND ADVANCED MANUFACTURING SECTORS
Success for PM Group’s UK arm in the pharmaceutical, food and advanced manufacturing sectors has seen the number of its employees more than double in just two years, necessitating a move to new offices. Officially opened by Ireland and Leicester Tigers rugby legend Geordan Murphy last week, the new Trinity Park office will serve as the HQ for over 260 people.
Despite the doubling in employee numbers in the UK over the last two years, however, the Group is still looking for experienced engineers, architects, project managers, construction managers, consultants and graduates. The UK expansion is part of a Group-wide recruitment drive that will bring the total number employed by PM Group worldwide to over 2000 for the first time in its 40 year history.
Over the course of the next six months, the Group expects its numbers in the UK to rise to over 300 people.
Well known pharmaceutical clients in the UK include GSK, Novartis and MedImmune while PM Group works for Dairy Crest, British Sugar, Molson Coors and Dutch dairy multinational Friesland Campina in the food industry. Elsewhere, the company is also enhancing its reputation in advanced manufacturing, particularly around the automotive industry for companies like Perkins and Cummins and in the aerospace sector for companies including Airbus.
“PM Group is celebrating its 40th year in business, and its 17th year in the UK, so we’re delighted to celebrate the official opening of our new offices in Birmingham and the doubling of staff numbers in two years,” says Peter Farrelly, MD UK, PM Group. “We are still looking to fill new positions in the pharmaceutical, food and advanced manufacturing sectors and have roles for experienced professionals and graduates across a range of disciplines.
“The West Midlands has a world renowned reputation for its engineering skills and our Birmingham office is a centre of engineering excellence for PM Group. From Trinity Park we lead not only on projects in the UK but around the world with global Dutch food giant,Friesland Campina in the Netherlands being a perfect example of this.”
“Our growth over the past few years, despite the difficult conditions in the construction industry generally, highlights that there are jobs and opportunities in providing professional, highly skilled services to the high tech sectors both here and internationally,” says Dave Murphy, CEO, PM Group.
