Enhanced compact range of electric actuators from AUMA

Listen to this article

The latest enhancement to  AUMA’s compact range featuring the SGC part-turn and SVC globe valve electric actuators is an electrical connection option using AUMA’s standard plug-in electrical connector that is deployed with the company’s larger SA multi-turn and SQ part-turn actuator type ranges.

With this new option, a uniform electrical connection concept
can be implemented across all actuator types installed within a plant. As standard, the actuators are equipped with smaller Phoenix connectors.

AUMA’s SGC and SVC actuator ranges, launched in 2011, offer exceptional torque levels and running speeds for their size. With a torque setting range between 400 and 1,000 Newton metres, maximum torque can now potentially be doubled.

Other recent advancements to the popular range include a new SGC 12.1 actuator size which caters for up to 1,000 Nm and an expanded stroke range for the SVC series.

The expanded stroke range for SVC globe valve actuators was achieved through revisions to limit sensors: recording 100 turns per stroke is now possible, as opposed to the previous 24 turns per stroke. This advancement significantly expands the application capabilities of these actuators.

Expanding on the rationale for its compact actuator products, and the reasons for their outstanding performance capability, AUMA highlights the benefits of its controls being an integral part of the actuator housing.

Patented ellipto-centric gearing and a permanent magnetic motor support a coaxial design. In comparison to conventional motors, the variable-speed motor technology adopted requires just a third of the design size to achieve equivalent power data and ellipto-centric gearing provides reduction ratios of 80:1 in a single stage. The gearing is also extremely hard-wearing. AUMA – leading manufacturer & global supplier of modular electric actuators.
