Eriez Magnetics Europe Ltd spent the month of Movember, formerly known as November, growing moustaches for The Touch Trust, a local charity based in Cardiff, South Wales, that provides creative, touch-based art of movement and dance programmes for individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders, behaviour that challenges and profound and multiple disabilities.
Lead by Eriez Directors, over 20 Eriez employees grew their moustaches for a whole 30 days while still being seen out in public and attending meetings as normal. To raise money for the event Eriez donated £10 for each moustache grown, individual MoBro’s (Moustache Brothers) raised money from friends and family and Corporate Travel Plus donated the hefty sum of £900 for the worthy charity.
The Eriez MoBro’s took the Movember month quite seriously with office talk focused around the progression of the moustaches from stubble to full blown taches. Some went as far as using dye to colour their upper lip hair while one took to grooming his into the shape of a magnet
On the last day of Movember all the MoBro’s lined up for judging with a prize going to the man with the best moustache. Will Harwood, Spares & Service Engineer at Eriez, who kept his hair growing even with a two week holiday in India to enjoy, won with his original red, white, green and black trucker style tache. Runner ups included Gareth Bray – Sales & Service Engineer – Recycling, Jason Davey – Engineering Draughtsman and Daryl Minty – Sales Administrator Key Accounts.
Eriez Europe, who design and manufacture Magnetic Separation and Metal Detection equipment for industry, regularly take part in events for charity and employees are always willing to get involved.
