Essentra Achieves Prestigious CDP ‘A’ Score for Environmental Leadership
Essentra has been recognised by CDP, the global environmental non-profit, for its leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change, forest and water security, earning a place on CDP’s highly regarded annual ‘A’ List. This accolade places Essentra among the world’s leading companies, demonstrating comprehensive environmental disclosure, strong governance and tangible progress towards sustainability and resilience.
CDP operates the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system, assessing thousands of companies each year on their environmental performance and reporting standards. In 2025, nearly 20,000 companies were evaluated out of more than 22,100 reporting through CDP’s platform. Achieving an ‘A’ score signifies that Essentra has gone beyond compliance, showing both ambition and effective action in its approach to climate change mitigation, forest preservation and water management.
The CDP scoring methodology is rigorous and independent, aligned with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework. It evaluates the depth and quality of corporate reporting, understanding and management of environmental risks, and evidence of best practice initiatives. This includes ambitious target-setting, verified actions, and demonstrated progress in reducing environmental impact.
CDP maintains the world’s largest repository of environmental data and is widely recognised by investors and procurement professionals as a benchmark for sustainability leadership. Its datasets inform investment decisions and procurement strategies that support a net-zero, sustainable and earth-positive global economy.
In 2025, 640 investors controlling a combined total of $127 trillion in assets requested that CDP collect detailed data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities. This illustrates the increasing demand from global financial markets for transparent and actionable environmental information, highlighting why recognition on the CDP A List is a mark of credibility and strategic foresight for businesses like Essentra.
Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP, commented:
“Congratulations to all companies on CDP’s A List. Businesses earning an ‘A’ score are proving that environmental ambition and commercial strength go hand in hand. High quality data gives leaders the confidence to make earth-positive decisions that secure long-term competitiveness, attract capital and safeguard natural systems. These organisations show what is possible when transparency becomes the foundation for action.”
Essentra’s inclusion on the CDP A List reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to integrating sustainability into business strategy, embedding robust environmental governance across operations, and actively mitigating climate, forest and water risks. The recognition not only validates Essentra’s current initiatives but also reinforces its position as a leader in environmental responsibility, demonstrating that sustainable business practices can coexist with commercial success and long-term growth.
Being part of the CDP A List also provides a platform for Essentra to inspire other organisations to pursue transparency, set measurable environmental goals, and implement initiatives that contribute to a net-zero and resilient global economy. It showcases how leadership in sustainability can translate into tangible benefits for shareholders, employees and wider society, while protecting critical natural systems.
