Farming Business Forum Goes Green!

Listen to this article

EDP24 recently detailed how soil, water and metaldehyde were the topics of discussion at a recent farm business forum. The event took place at the Green Britain Centre, attracting some 100 delegates to hear from organisations including the Country Land and Business Association, the Campaign for the Farmed Environment, the National Farmers’ Union, Defra, the Farming Advice Service, the Environment Agency and Anglian Water.

A central theme to the event focussed on reducing soil compaction caused by high axe loads, high ground pressures and random trafficking of vehicles. Interestingly, it was discussed how 75 per cent of tyre damage to soil happens through the first pass, meaning that it is essential farmers ensure they are operating using optimum tyre size, pressure, axle load and ballast for each job.

Water, as ever is one of the most debated subjects in farming and abstraction and water supplies were also discussed. As ever, Enduramaxx strives to help farmers manage their own water supplies and we do this by providing dedicated rainwater harvesting solutions comprising rainwater tanks to storing huge volumes of water securely and safely. The vertical storage tanks are made from ridged, single piece, uv-stabilised polyethylene, meaning that rainwater will not leak or spill and is protected from the elements.
