FOAMGLAS EXPANDS ITS MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Pittsburgh Corning announces the expansion of its FOAMGLAS manufacturing operations in the Czech Republic. This state of the art production facility based in Klasterec nad Ohri, features an improved manufacturing process, which allows continuous production of FOAMGLAS, on the 300 metre long line.
The official opening of the production site took place on Saturday May 24th 2008.
Phillip M. Martineau, President and CEO of Pittsburgh Corning Corporation says: “Our improved process to manufacture FOAMGLAS will facilitate Pittsburgh Cornings ability to provide responsive delivery to our global customers and continue to be a world class supplier.”
The plant expansion will increase Pittsburgh Cornings global production capacity by over 30%. As this cellular glass insulation is non-combustible, corrosion resistant, dimensionally stable, vermin- and rot proof, ecologically sound and has high compressive strength, global demand for industrial and commercial FOAMGLAS is steadily increasing throughout a variety of end-user markets.
Pittsburgh Corning Europe operates production sites for FOAMGLAS in Belgium, Germany and the Czech Republic. The Klasterec FOAMGLAS plant, built next to the insulation fabrication operations, will enhance the ability of Pittsburgh Corning to efficiently produce both high quality cellular glass blocks and fabricated units for its worldwide customers.
