Fully FDA Approve Silicone Sponge Launched

Listen to this article

A fully FDA approved, food grade silicone sponge is now available from the silicone specialists, Silicone Engineering.

After many trials and rigorous testing, we are excited to introduce kSil™FDA closed cell silicone sponge which has been fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration, meaning all ingredients added to make up the sponge formula are on the FDA white list ensuring it meets the highest safety standards.

Many FDA sponge materials claim to “comply to” or state “in compliance with” FDA regulations. This does not mean the product is fully FDA approved. Most probably, this means the sponge passes a sub test such as extraction tests.

If you currently buy a proposed FDA silicone sponge, the question should be asked “are you 100% sure its ingredients are all FDA approved?”

In industries where health and safety is under stringent checks and regulations, such as the Food, Beverage and Pharmaceutical sectors, FDA approved sponge can be used as seals and gaskets to ensure that not only a high performing seal is obtained, but also a material that is in no way going to contaminate product made for human contact or consumption.

Our FDA closed cell silicone sponge is available in:
•    Rolls
•    Sheets
•    Extrusions (cords, tubing, profiles & sections)

The ideal material to be used in industries such as:
•    Food
•    Beverage
•    Pharmaceutical

Silicone Engineering”s solid silicone rubber is also FDA approved for use with food and beverage contact. It also complies with German standard BfR XV as well as EG 1935/2004

Ideal for seals and gaskets, silicone can withstand extreme temperature variances from 230°C to -60°C. Our solid silicone is also WRAS approved for use with drinking water.
