Now used in over 30,000 applications worldwide, the GreCon spark detection system has proved to be the most effective means of extinguishing ignition sources in pneumatic conveying lines or drop chutes, BEFORE a fire or explosion occurs.
GreCon spark detectors react to the infra red energy of sparks, embers and burning material, generated by milling and grinding machinery or by the malfunction of the transport system itself. Detected sparks and burning material are then reliably extinguished using either a curtain of high pressure water or an inert gas depending on the material and process involved. Fast acting traps or diversion gates are also available in order to prevent the forward passage of the ignition source within the process itself.
The GreCon system can effectively detect and extinguish ignition sources without costly process shut-downs or interruption of the production process, thereby improving plant safety whilst preventing production downtime.
