Grundfos kick off in Brazil

Football in Brazil is more than simply the beautiful game, but is in fact a national obsession. It is quite ironic that an ex-pat is credited with introducing the game to Brazil in the later part of the 19th century, it’s popularity quickly spread and with world cup victories in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002 – more than any other nation.

In 2014, hosting the cup for the 2nd time and with 12 new and upgraded world class stadia having the eyes of the world trained upon them during the world cup – the rest of world also gets to join the party. The Maracanã Stadium, with its 100,000 capacity, is perhaps one of the best known stadiums having been originally built for 1950 World Cup. Recently, newly refurbished, Grundfos supplied all of the pumps needed to meet the stadium’s needs. This included 23 booster sets that will deliver water to where it is needed as well as a range of other products that will support the water supply, wastewater, field irrigation, air conditioning and fire-fighting systems.

As the pressure builds, all 12 stadiums will be able to cope as they are all fitted with Grundfos booster solutions. These complete solutions identify variations in water flow, allowing the pumps to continuously regulate their speed while maintaining the desired constant water pressure and water flow.

We know there will be high drama and many ups and downs along the way – but at least we know the water will be constant with Grundfos Pumps in attendance.
