Hima-Sella defies recession fears with growing workforce and new panel building brochure

Many UK firms may be tightening their belts and fearing the worst but things are definitely on the up for Hima-Sella, leading panel manufacturer and safety-critical system designer in the north-west of England. Since a successful management buy-in last year, the firm has steadily increased its workforce, from 80 to 101.

Hima-Sella designs and manufactures safety and control panels, largely for the world’s petrochemical, gas, steel, nuclear, transport and defence industries. In recognition of its greater working capabilities, Hima-Sella has produced a new, fully comprehensive panel building brochure, which emphasises Hima-Sella’s high degree of understanding of numerous industrial sectors.

Panel building services range from initial consultation and project management, to post-project staff training and 24-hour technical support. Panels can be tailor-made, from the smallest, basic wall-mounted variety, all the way up to room-size panels – and anything in between.

Managing director Ian Wright said: “Our latest panel building brochure goes some way to showcasing our extensive range of services and products, but we can make almost anything to meet individual client specifications. We’re very proud of our versatility and high level of expertise.”

And if the firm’s growing order book is anything to go by, global giants including MW Kellogg and Statoil continue to place their trust in Hima-Sella, for its proven safety expertise and reputation for quality in manufacture. The Hima-Sella secret would appear to lie in its on-going business relationship with a distinguished list of global firms in the Far East and other parts of the globe, which are currently enjoying rapid expansion and industrial redevelopment. And that can only be good news for Hima-Sella’s design and manufacturing team, which is going from strength to strength.

One person who has witnessed Hima-Sella’s positive growth is recently promoted employee and field sales engineer Paul Shaw. Having more than 20 years’ employment experience at Hima-Sella already under his belt, there are arguably few better qualified than Paul to promote Hima-Sella’s proven panel-building capabilities. In the coming months, Paul will work alongside experienced engineers to build on a steadily growing portfolio of clients, which also includes multi-national giants such as Amec and Exxon.

Having already spent time with clients in Egypt, Norway, and Canada and on numerous offshore installations, Paul is very familiar with the varying and fast-changing demands of a global clientele. Paul – who began his Hima-Sella career as a panel builder – has worked his way up through the ranks, most recently providing on-site customer support for projects and installations.

Paul said: “Being appointed for this role is a great opportunity for me. To play such a crucial part in the company’s day-to-day success is a real honour and one that presents a challenge I will really enjoy. Hima-Sella’s global reputation for excellent design, manufacture and post-project customer care and training certainly makes my job that little bit easier!”

Ian Wright added: “I wish Paul all the best in his new role and I’m really pleased that he has stayed with the company all these years and progressed to this stage. It’s a positive reflection of the strength of team spirit we all enjoy at Hima-Sella – a quality which is sure to see us through even the toughest of times.”
