Innocoat Sets New Standard with AkzoNobel’s Interpon D3020 in India
Key points
Innocoat Systems has become the first company in India to achieve Interpon D3020 Approved Applicator status, marking a significant milestone in the country’s architectural coatings sector.
This accreditation gives Innocoat a competitive edge while demonstrating its commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality, durability and sustainability in architectural powder coatings.
Awarded by global paints and coatings leader AkzoNobel, the certification grants Innocoat customers access to the hyperdurable Interpon D3020 powder coating.
Specially engineered for extreme environments, it offers outstanding gloss and colour retention, alongside the option of project warranties of up to 30 years.
As a high-performance and sustainable alternative to traditional liquid PVDF2 systems, it supports long-term environmental goals while maintaining superior performance.
A Decade of Partnership with AkzoNobel
Innocoat has partnered with AkzoNobel for more than ten years, reinforcing its leadership in surface finishing. Operating three advanced facilities across Peenya and Kunigal, the company coats over 1,000 tonnes of aluminium each month for projects ranging from commercial real estate to high-specification transport infrastructure.
“We continuously explore new technologies and sustainable processes to enhance quality, efficiency and performance,” says Dilip Kumar, Managing Director at Innocoat. “Achieving D3020 Approved Applicator status from AkzoNobel is an important milestone for us, and one that reinforces our ability to meet the most demanding customer expectations.”
Delivering Sustainable Coating Solutions
Alongside Interpon D3020, Innocoat regularly uses the Interpon D2525 series, renowned for its superdurable performance. Like all Interpon powder coatings, it provides low environmental impact with no VOCs and is supported by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), enabling customers to make informed, sustainability-focused choices.
Innocoat also offers Interpon D bonded metallic and anodic finishes, delivering a natural metallic appearance with excellent resistance to UV, scratches and weathering.
“The D3020 range offers maximum gloss and colour retention, even in harsh conditions,” explains Mohan Dhandapani, General Manager at Innocoat. “It supports our mission to provide advanced alternatives that outperform traditional systems. The innovations developed through our partnership with AkzoNobel Powder Coatings allow us to deliver added value and remain competitive in an increasingly demanding industry.”
