Innovative solutions for sludge and wastewater treatment
HRS Heat Exchangers Limited, a leading heat transfer specialist for the process industries, with BIOda, have recently won a sizeable order from JSC Manfula in Lithuania. HRS will supply DTR double tube heat exchanger with removable inner tube for sludge applications to JSC Manfula for their Alytus town municipal wastewater treatment and biogas plant (Alytus WWTP).
Over the past few years, waste water processing regulations in Lithuania are focusing more on modernising existing plants and opening new ones that can treat sewerage sludge more effectively and efficiently. Previously the Alytus WWTP would have used an intermediate water loop, which reduces the level of heat recovery available, increasing unit cost, carbon footprint and running costs.
After extensive consultation with JSC Manfula, HRS DTR series with a removable inner tube was selected as it is specially designed for sludge and wastewater applications and could meet the strict requirements of the site. The removable inner tube ensures optimal heat recovery and cleaning capability.
JSC Manfula is a pioneer of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants in Lithuania, well known for supplying its customers with high quality equipments and engineering solutions, while playing a critical role in contributing to Lithuania’s renewable energy campaign.
