Interpon joins NATSPEC to simplify compliant powder coatings specification
Partnership integrates Interpon’s architectural powder coatings into a leading national specification system, helping architects specify with greater speed, accuracy and confidence.
Interpon, AkzoNobel’s powder coating brand, is now a recognised Product Partner of NATSPEC, a widely used national building specification platform. The move gives architects, specifiers, fabricators and engineers convenient access to its high performance, sustainable and compliant architectural powder coatings.
NATSPEC is a national not for profit organisation owned by government and industry. Its objective is to improve construction quality and productivity across the sustainable built environment. The NATSPEC system is used extensively by architects and specifiers to streamline product selection while supporting compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
Through this collaboration architects and specifiers can now select Interpon powder coatings directly within the appropriate worksection of the NATSPEC platform without the need to search for supporting technical documentation or rewrite specifications. This simplifies specification writing and reduces the administrative burden often associated with compliant product selection.
Access to verified sustainability and performance data, warranties, technical information and a full range of colour and finish options helps improve specification accuracy, reduce project risk and support efficient workflows from design through to delivery. By integrating structured product data into an established specification system the partnership strengthens confidence at every stage of the project lifecycle.
Among the Interpon products and services available through NATSPEC are the super durable and hyper durable D2525 and D3020 ranges. These architectural powder coatings offer excellent weather resistance colour retention and gloss retention for demanding exterior environments.
The D2525 range has an extended colour retention warranty from 15 to 20 years. The D3020 range has an extended film integrity warranty from 30 to 35 years and colour retention warranty from 20 to 30 years. These extended warranties support long term façade performance and help asset owners and developers manage whole life cost considerations.
The D2525 range also sits within Interpon’s sustainable solutions collection having met the data backed sustainability criteria that define the sustainable solutions range. Interpon sustainable solutions powder coatings help reduce environmental impact without compromising durability appearance or cost making it easier for architects to choose coatings that align with project sustainability goals and environmental performance targets.
Simon Timmins Regional Commercial Director Powder Coatings South Asia at AkzoNobel Powder Coatings says Australia’s architectural sector is placing increasing emphasis on performance and compliance: “As these expectations continue to rise, specifiers need streamlined tools that simplify product selection, while architects are seeking reliable, locally supported products they can specify with confidence.
“By working together with NATSPEC and integrating Interpon into a trusted specification system, we’re setting a clearer, more efficient pathway for high-performance coating specification – delivering the durability, design flexibility, and local technical support the industry expects.”
For more than 50 years AkzoNobel’s Interpon range of architectural powder coatings has helped architects specifiers and builders bring their creative visions to life across commercial residential and public infrastructure projects. By integrating directly into NATSPEC the brand strengthens its position within specification-led construction and supports improved compliance sustainability and performance outcomes across the built environment.
