INTRODUCING THE NEW HEL PAT-IR FT-IR Spectrometer

Listen to this article

HEL are proud to announce their new product offering the HEL PAT -IR mid-infrared spectrometer.
The PAT –IR is designed for on-line process measurement using fibre optic probes, which has an option for a built in 6 port multiplexer allowing multiple  samples/reactors to be monitored with our PolyBLOCK or AutoMATE systems.

Dr. Jasbir Singh, MD HEL Ltd commented “The system covers a wide range of wavelengths with unequaled resolution and low noise characteristics, making it ideal for tracking fast and slow reactions alike, in real time”.
He continued “the data allows identification of side reactions and the tracking of transients for mechanistic kinetic models as well as control of quality”.
Fiber Optic Probes
The combination of the ATR (attenuated total reflection) sampling techniques and the light guiding fiber optics enhances the use of infrared spectroscopy, enabling in situ measurements, which helps fully utilize the benefits of information rich mid IR spectroscopy.
A wide range of probe adaptations, including the patented diamond ATR probe, can be attached to the unit for in situ analysis. The patented design combines a two reflection diamond ATR probe head with the excellent performance of MIR silver halide fibers.
Process and Laboratory Ready
The PAT-IR is a process-ready FT-IR spectrometer that is ideal for real-time monitoring and analysis of chemical and biological reactions. When used on HEL reactor platforms, the spectral data are graphically displayed together with process information. This also allows process changes be made on the basis spectra, process measurements or a combination of the two enabling automated closed loop optimisation.
