ION SENSE® launches revolutionary new PID sensors

ION SENSE®, the established brand for innovative gas detection technologies, has unveiled its new-generation photoionisation detectors at the Sensor + Test 2025 exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany. 

The new ION SENSE® PID 10.6eV 3 and PID 10.6eV 10 set new industry benchmarks for the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOC), with outstanding performance, accuracy and reliability at a low total cost of ownership.

Next-generation detection capabilities

The ION SENSE® PID 10.6eV 3 boasts a better detection limit of 0.5 ppb and a measurement range of 3 ppm. Conversely, the PID 10.6eV 10 boasts a detection limit of 1 ppb and a larger measurement range of 10 ppm. 

Each boasts 50% faster response time, 15,000 hours lamp and filter life, robust electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection and patent pending smart diagnostics to deliver enhanced operator safety.

Their superior humidity resistance and improved lamp longevity allow them to maintain stable operation in the most severe of environmental conditions, giving customers added confidence in their air quality measurement.

Spending on innovation

These cutting-edge sensors are the result of four years of intense research and development by top professionals in the field. Inspired by input from experts across the industry and driven by enthusiasm for innovation, ION SENSE® developed and tested over 300 prototypes. 

The final designs not only meet performance specifications but also reduce maintenance costs over the long term.

Seamless integration

In addition to the PID sensors, ION SENSE® also offers a family of integration boards: ION CONNECT and ION TRANSMIT. The boards simplify installation and allow for fast evaluation in every type of application, from small air quality sensors to industrial-scale applications.

The ION TRANSMIT board enables remote monitoring long-distance communication, while the ION CONNECT board makes data interpretation easier by converting analogue signals into digital outputs. MODBUS compatibility also streamlines system control to improve operational efficiency in various environments.
