Ireland to Require all New Buildings to Install Rainwater Harvesting and Water Storage Tank Systems

Listen to this article

Interesting developments in Ireland focus on harnessing rainwater in all new buildings.  According to the Independent, all new buildings, including houses, apartments, offices and schools will be obliged to install rainwater harvesting systems to reduce consumption and to help drive down utility bills.

The regulations will lead to higher construction costs, but savings generated should repay the costs over seven to ten years and UK construction would also benefit from following Ireland by installing rainwater storage tanks.

Enduramaxx manufactures a comprehensive range of water tanks for rainwater storage tanks, including a range of conical or cone tanks which are also WRAS certified, meaning they comply with stringent regulations to allow the storage of drinking water.
